Staying in the centre of Edirne saves the most valuable thing on a trip: time. Komşu Konak is on the outer edge of Kaleiçi, at İzmir Caddesi No 18, Mithat Paşa Mahallesi; the city's main monuments are reached on foot, and the border gates and the motorway in a short drive. If you are comparing hotels in Edirne by location, the distance table below shows what is within reach.
Where is the centre of Edirne?
For a visitor, the centre of Edirne is the historic core formed by the Selimiye Mosque, the Old Mosque, the Üç Şerefeli Mosque, the Bedesten, the Ali Paşa Bazaar and Saraçlar Caddesi. Kaleiçi lies south-west of this core, the Tunca riverside and Sarayiçi to the north, and the Meriç Bridge and the Karaağaç direction to the south. The city's newer residential areas have grown outside this core along the main roads.
Administratively, according to TÜİK's 2025 Address-Based Population Registration System results, the central district of Edirne has a population of 200,753, with 28 neighbourhoods and 37 villages. Mithat Paşa Mahallesi, where the guesthouse stands, is one of the small neighbourhoods closest to the historic core.

Arriving in Edirne by car, bus or train
Drivers from Istanbul use the O-3 (TEM) motorway; according to the Turkish Highways data the fastest route is 232 km. Once in the city, head towards Kaleiçi and pull up on İzmir Caddesi; you do not need to enter the narrow inner lanes.
For bus travellers the bus station is outside the city centre; from there you reach Kaleiçi by taxi or city public transport. Train travellers also reach the centre from the station by taxi in a short time. Check current timetables and routes with official sources before travelling.
Parking and driving in the centre
The guesthouse has no private car park. However, it is on İzmir Caddesi on the outer edge of Kaleiçi; finding a space on the street or nearby is usually easy. Once the car is parked, the bazaar, the mosques and the cafes are within walking distance, so you will not need it again during the day.
Some streets of the historic core are narrow and busy; looking for a space around the Selimiye and the bazaar during the day can take time. That is why the real advantage of staying central is parking the car and exploring on foot. At busy times such as weekends and Kırkpınar week, it is good to arrive earlier.

A transit stay and border stopover in the centre
Being 15–20 minutes from Kapıkule and a few kilometres from Pazarkule makes the location practical for those who want an overnight stop on a journey to Europe. Let us know in advance about a late arrival or an early departure; we can also discuss the breakfast time accordingly.
Guests staying only one night can also have breakfast in the courtyard in the morning and continue on their way.
Staying central and sleeping quietly
Although the guesthouse is central, its courtyard is one gate in from the street; there is no regular live music. The grid streets of Kaleiçi calm down in the evening; by day you are in the middle of the city, at night in the middle of a neighbourhood.
Room types range from the 22 m² Standard to the 42 m² Family room; the Deluxe room and the Suite have balconies, and all rooms have Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a TV and a minibar. Breakfast from 09:00 to 13:00 is included. For the closest route to the mosque, see our stay near the Selimiye Mosque page; for all options, our Edirne accommodation page.
