For those planning a brunch in Edirne, Komşu Konak offers two options: sitting down unhurriedly at the spread breakfast set every morning from 09:00 to 13:00, or a brunch party set up just for you for a birthday, a baby shower or a gathering of friends. Either way, the table is set in the courtyard of the historic mansion in Kaleiçi, under the vine arbour or the glass roof. The spread that forms the base of the table is described on our Turkish breakfast in Edirne page.
What is brunch, and how is it different from breakfast?
Brunch is a word formed from breakfast and lunch, and describes the late, long morning table between the two. It is usually set at weekends between 10:00 and 14:00 and eaten unhurriedly, with conversation.
The Turkish spread breakfast is in fact a natural counterpart of brunch: many small plates, a long-lasting table and plenty of tea. The difference is in the time and the length. The city's average spread breakfast prices are on our Edirne breakfast prices page.
| Spread breakfast | Brunch | Brunch party | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Time | 09:00–13:00 | Usually 10:00–14:00 | Decided together |
| Length | 1–1.5 hours | 2–3 hours | 2–3 hours |
| Table | Spread | Breakfast and lunch plates | A spread base with additions for the event |
| At the guesthouse | Every morning, by booking | As a late breakfast | Planned with a quote |

A late morning at the daily table in Edirne
For those who want an unhurried breakfast at the weekend, the easiest way is to sit down in the second half of breakfast hours. As the spread breakfast lasts until 13:00, even arriving around 10:30–11:00 is enough to finish without rushing. Staying on in the courtyard with a cup of coffee after breakfast naturally turns the morning into a brunch.
Visitors not staying with us need to book by WhatsApp or phone; writing early for weekends makes things easier.
Who is an Edirne brunch party for?
A brunch party is a daytime event that turns breakfast into a celebration. It is a good option for birthday mornings, baby shower gatherings, a weekend get-together of friends, a family breakfast after an engagement or meeting relatives you have not seen for a long time.
It offers a calmer, more family-friendly flow than an evening event; it is also comfortable for older guests and small children. In daylight, the courtyard, the brick arch and the vine arbour make a beautiful backdrop for photos. Theme and flow ideas for a baby shower are on our Edirne baby shower page.

How to plan a group brunch in Edirne
Planning starts with a short WhatsApp message. Just write the date, the approximate number of guests and the occasion; we send the quote the same day or the next. We work on a small, intimate scale; the 10–40 guest range suits the courtyard best.
Then the details are discussed: how the spread base will be enriched with additions for the event, how the time will be set so as not to clash with the daily breakfast, and whether to set one long table or groups of small tables.
- Date and time: settled together around the daily breakfast
- Number of guests: a small, intimate scale, set by your list
- Menu: a spread breakfast base with additions for the event
- Table layout: one long table or groups of small tables
- Decoration, cake and photo corner: discussed in advance
- Plan B: the glass-roofed section and the indoor lounge in the rain
Courtyard or glass roof for a brunch in Edirne?
In spring and summer, the space under the vine arbour suits a brunch party best; in the morning cool, the lawned courtyard and garden swings put guests at ease. In July and August, as the heat rises towards noon, it is more comfortable to set the table early or move it under the glass roof.
In winter, the lounge with stone and brick walls and a wooden ceiling, with its crystal chandelier and antique armchairs, offers a cosier, warmer table. If the weather is uncertain, the table can be set under the glass roof from the start.

After an Edirne brunch: a short walk and a place to stay
A short walk through Kaleiçi is easily added after brunch: the Ali Paşa Bazaar is about 5 minutes and the Selimiye Mosque 12–15 minutes away. Guests coming from afar can stay at the same address and have breakfast at the guesthouse the next morning too; room options are on our Edirne accommodation page.
