Looking for a cafe or restaurant in Edirne's old town? Komşu Konak is a quiet stop in the courtyard of a historic mansion at İzmir Caddesi No 18, Kaleiçi, serving coffee, tea and seasonal drinks. A spread breakfast is laid out every morning from 09:00 to 13:00; for the rest of the day a drinks list from Turkish coffee to lemonade awaits you under the vine arbour, in the glass-roofed section or in the indoor lounge.
With its red-and-white façade, shuttered wooden windows and brick arch, the guesthouse stands on the outer edge of Kaleiçi. The Ali Paşa Bazaar is about 5 minutes and the Selimiye Mosque about 12–15 minutes away on foot, so it is easy to drop in for a cup of coffee mid-tour. There is no regular live music in the courtyard, and conversation is easy to hear.

What is on the menu at our Edirne cafe?
Coffee is the backbone of the menu. The Turkish coffee family includes classic Turkish coffee, Komşu Special Turkish Coffee, Gümülcine coffee, dibek coffee, named after the traditional method of pounding beans in a stone mortar, and menengiç coffee, made from the seeds of the terebinth tree, also known as wild pistachio.
For everyday coffee drinkers there are filter coffee, americano, espresso and latte; for hot days, iced latte, iced americano and iced filter coffee. Tea lovers can choose classic black tea, Komşu Special Brew or herbal teas. In winter salep and dark hot chocolate are favourites, in summer lemonade and iced tea; soft drinks and mineral water are on the list too.

In spring and summer, tables line the shade of the vine arbour and the brick arch; the lawn, garden swings and decorative carriage make a calm backdrop for an afternoon break. When the lanterns come on in the early evening, the courtyard takes on a quieter mood.
In autumn and winter, and on rainy or cool days, the glass-roofed section and the stone-and-brick indoor lounge with its wooden ceiling are used. With a crystal chandelier and antique armchairs, the lounge suits a long conversation over salep or hot chocolate.

There are three uses through the day. From 09:00 to 13:00 the breakfast spread is laid out; it is included for overnight guests, and visitors book by WhatsApp or phone. After breakfast the courtyard turns into a cafe serving the drinks on the menu.
Komşu Konak is not a restaurant taking food orders at any hour; dinner is usually served at events planned in advance.
